What personal data we collect and why we collect it


When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you use our contact form, located here, we will store all the data that was sent to our site. This data is used only for reference so that we may contact you back and know all the data from the form.

You may request us to look upon your email in such data and delete it or export it to you.

Newsletter forms

Newsletter forms can be found under most of articles and pages. They are used to collect your email and inform you of new articles and products.

On most forms, we collect your email address and your name and on some just your email. Your name is collected so we can personalize the email we are sending to you.

We use MailChimp for newsletter lists.

Webinar forms

The webinar form can be found on the Webinar page. This form is used to collect your email and name and to inform you about the webinar through several emails that we send until the Webinar starts.

For each new Webinar, we create a new email list. After the Webinar is over, your email is then merged to our Newsletter list and the newly created email list is deleted.

We use MailChimp for webinar lists.

Email Courses

We offer you an option to sign up for a short email course. The total number of emails, you will be given, is depending on your engagement with the course.

The maximum number of emails you can get is 11. After that, you will be automatically unsubscribed from the course.

We are using MailerLite for the email course.

Subscriptions to Notifications

On each article and on some pages, you have the option to subscribe yourself to this website. We are using the Jetpack service for the subscriptions. You may check their privacy page for more information on the data they store.

To summarize, they store:

  • Your Email Address,
  • IP Address,
  • ID of the post or comment,
  • HTTP Request Headers,
  • URL of the page,
  • Server Data to prevent spamming.


Under each article and page, you have a like button with which you can let us know that you like the content. We are using JetPack Likes and you can read their Privacy Information for more details.

When you click on the button, they store the following data:

  • IP address,
  • user ID,
  • username,
  • site ID (on which the post was liked),
  • post ID (of the post that was liked),
  • user agent,
  • timestamp of the event,
  • browser language,
  • country code.


If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.


When you sign up for a giveaway, a cookie will be created for every giveaway so we know if we need to show you the subscribed page or the initial giveaway page. It does not store any personal data.

Thrive Plugins

We are using plugins from The plugins are used for generating leads, subscribing you to the newsletter, webinars and the email course. They are also used for creating landing pages and such.

Third Party Cookies


We are using Jetpack modules on our site so visitors can subscribe to our site and like our content. We are also using Site Stats to monitor closely the activity on this website and to know which content category is more suitable for the visitors. You can read all about the Cookies they use here.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a third party service which enables us to closely monitor our site and see which content gets more traffic. We are also using it to know which countries and source of traffic is more suitable for our content. While they use cookies to get precise traffic information, we are anonymizing IP addresses and we do not send any personal data such as the email and name from our forms.

Facebook Pixel

Facebook Pixel is a cookie related to marketing. If you’re logged into Facebook while browsing this site, Facebook Pixel will send data to Facebook. We can use that data for promoting our articles to you directly on Facebook.

We are also using the data when building Ads related to our products such as eBooks or courses. You can learn more about the Facebook pixel here, and control how information about you is used to personalize the ads you see from here. Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

While we keep most of the data in our own databases, some of the data is shared with other third-party services.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

When you contact us through the contact form, we will retain that data for as long as we need it so we can contact you back and also use the feedback for more content or product ideas.

When you sign up for the Newsletter or Webinar we will retain your data for as long as you want. You have the option to unsubscribe from the lists whenever you want. The unsubscribe link is often placed at the bottom of the email.

When you sign up for the Email Course, we will retain your data until the course is finished. After that, you will be unsubscribed automatically.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

You can also request information on your data (export or deletion) if you’ve signed up for a newsletter, webinar or course. I will find your data by email and process it as you have requested it, be it an export or removal of data. This will be done within 48 hours of the request.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. We are using Akismet for spam detection. Akismet is a product from Automattic and you can read their privacy policy here:, used for Likes and Subscribptions to Notifications, is also a product from Automattic.

Additional information

How we protect your data

Our site uses HTTPS protocol. All the data that is sent to this site is encrypted in a way that is not readable in the plain text format.

Our server and database is hosted on DigitalOcean, you can read their privacy policy: to get information on how they keep the data secure.

What data breach procedures we have in place

If a data breach occurs, we will email all the registered users on this site and place a notification bar on the top of our site.

We will also inform other services we use such as DigitalOcean, MailChimp, MailerLite, and of such breach, if it is related also to the data they store on their site.
